Description
Is this what happens when you cross a witch with a shrink spell and special doll collection? Or perhaps the continuing travels of Gulliver in the land of the Brobdingnagians?
I love dollification pictures and this one was a fun concept, literally becoming just another doll on a shelf full of dolls. Living dolls, in this case, but still....
Soooo many characters with soooo many little details! This one a lot of work to draw. I must have been temporarily crazy. (There was actually a second person on the upper shelf in the original sketch but I skipped her because I partially came to my senses on the third day of working on this.)
The dramatic cast shadow from the upper shelf was fun, though! I think it adds a greater sense of depth.
The color balance was difficult. My instinct was to give every character a different color outfit so there was blue and pink and brown and yellow and green and the shelves were brown and the wall had red wallpaper and the colors were all over place and it looked awful and chaotic. So I went back and turned everything into variations around the same narrow set of colors and it balanced out much better.
This was my fifth patron-sponsored work which I posted to my patrons on July 26th, 2015.
